Are you a songwriter? Are you a musician who's interested in writing more? Have you experienced writer's block?
Have you written a song that you've hated?
Do you have a backlog of ideas but a dearth of finished songs?
On the 6/27, singer-songwriter Darryl Joo (of BWQ) will be hosting a workshop sharing practical strategies and helpful mindsets in breaking down those barriers and writing more thoughtfully, confidently, and freely.
This will be a highly structured, intense workshop. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BRING THE FOLLOWING:
1) An idea or two that you'd like to develop. They can be old ideas or new.
2) Your preferred method of work (pen and paper, journal, laptop, etc)
3) Your instrument. If you are a guitarist, PLEASE BRING YOUR ELECTRIC GUITAR, so as to write your song unplugged. There will be an amp available for the purpose of sharing ideas. If you are a keyboard player, please make sure to bring headphones. As other artists will be working, we want to respect their creative headspace.
Doors will open at 1:30.
The session starts at 2pm *SHARP*.
The session length will be 150-160 minutes.
Latecomers will be chided and hung up by the thumbs.
